The short version: Mathlark is free to use, the results are for information, and you should check anything important with a professional. By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
Who we are
Mathlark is run by Jon, based in Vermont, United States. "We" and "us" on this page mean Mathlark. You can reach us at hello@mathlark.com.
What the results are for
Mathlark's calculators are for general information and learning. They are not financial, medical, legal, or tax advice, and they don't know your full situation. Before you make a decision that matters, such as taking out a loan, changing your savings plan, or anything about your health, talk to a qualified professional.
A result is only as good as the numbers you enter. Real accounts, loans, and products can work differently from a calculator: banks may round, count days, or add fees in their own way. Where that's likely, the calculator's page says so.
Accuracy
We test every formula against worked examples from published sources, and each calculator lists its sources. Even so, mistakes can happen. We provide the site as it is, without any promise that it's error free, always available, or right for your purpose. If you spot a mistake, pleasetell us, and we'll check it against the sources and fix it.
Our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Mathlark isn't responsible for any loss or damage that comes from using the site or relying on its results. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you. Nothing on this page takes away rights you have by law that can't be waived.
Using the site
You're welcome to use Mathlark as much as you like, for yourself, your work, or your classroom. Please don't:
- try to break, overload, or get around how the site works
- copy the site's text, design, or code to build a copy of it
- show Mathlark pages inside another website
Sharing and quoting
Your results are yours to use however you like. You can link to any page, share results with the Share button, and quote short parts of our explanations with a link back. Each calculator's "Cite this page" gives you a ready citation. The site's text, design, and code belong to Mathlark.
Offline and installed calculators
Calculators saved for offline use or to your home screen keep working without a connection, and update to the latest version the next time you open them online. An offline copy can be out of date until then.
Other sites
Some pages link to other websites, such as the sources behind a formula. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for what's on them.
Privacy
Your numbers never leave your browser. Our privacy page explains exactly what is and isn't collected.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the site changes. When we do, we'll change the date at the top. Using the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
